History Castle House Saddlery was established in 2007 as a welcome edition to Castle House Equine Centre. Following many years in private and public sector roles from grass roots to management and a string of academic and professional qualifications a redundancy situation left owner Andrea uncertain as to what the future held.
From an early age Andrea had always been a keen horsewoman and competitor ranging from teaching and judging to competing at the National Show Jumping Championships. Andrea's son, now a second generation member of the Braes of Derwent Pony Club was showing promise as a young rider and with the increased expense of saddlery and riding equipment, Andrea decided to put her knowledge and business qualifications to good use by opening Castle House Saddlery. Andrea is supported by family members who bring professional expertise in their own fields and despite being busy with the shop, she still manages to fit in teaching, competing and organising activities in between the mucking out duties!
Our Aims We aim to provide good quality equestrian products and services at affordable prices. Ranging from everyday clothing and riding equipment to top quality saddlery, there's something for everyone from the happy hacker to the more serious competitor. As well as supplying top quality products, our philosophy is to provide an excellent customer service and all round advice on the latest products and standards. We understand how busy people's lives are, which is why we open late most evenings and offer out of hours appointments to suit everyones needs. We have plenty of onsite parking and even have customers that call in with their horses when out hacking or drop by on the way to a lesson with their horsebox.
